Hi Fellow Members;

Now that Halloween is over and we can get serious about our hockey, I want to thank all of you for helping make our expansion a fantastic success. Player moves and rebalancing have started and we appreciate your continued co-operation in this important action. The Conveners and Captains have put in a lot of effort and thought when making these changes, we appreciate their efforts!

For those who do not know, the “Board of Directors” meet on a monthly basis to report on activities that guide our operations. The conveners attend every 2^nd meeting and we absolutely depend on their feedback and together we work to make our club as great as it is. If you have any items you would like addressed, please talk with your captain and in turn the captains report to their divisional convener, who bring each of the different divisional issues to the Director and the VP of Hockey. They are empowered to run hockey operations and with the Discipline Chair keep the balance between effort and fun. Of course each convener reports when they attend the BOD meeting but we would not want to wait 2 months before we addressed concerns, or missed great ideas. 

By now most of you should have played at our expanded Appleby Arena and the feedback has been very positive. The other comment I hear is how much quicker the hockey is this year, in all divisions. Truly the expansion has resulted in a positive hockey experience for all.

“Hectors Lounge” has never looked better with the new TV’s, updated refrigeration system to keep our bev’s cold and some really cool BOHC Logo’s items for you to purchase. All items can be purchased from our E-Store found on our website. Soon we will also have a laptop set up next to the product display so you can order with more convenience. This is a member’s lounge, and is a key part of our operations and we strive to keep prices as low as possible. We appreciate your support!   

Many thanks to all of you who have purchased “Ham & Turkey Draw” tickets, taking place on November 27^th. I encourage all of you to attend as it is a great evening of fun. Financially it contributes $6500 to club coffers and any profit over that budget is donated to charity.

Volunteering is the key to the success of our club, and we ask for each of you to support our charitable fundraising efforts that allow us to keep our fees low and support organizations that are key to helping those in need in our community. Our first BOWSER has been completed and you guys are awesome contributing $1646 in cash and 564 food items.

As a final note and on behalf of the BOD’s many thanks to our advertisers for their support, volunteers for their time and we hope you enjoy our season and as always we strive for “Balance, Fair Play and Community”.
