2012 Presidents Message

Dear Friends,

New Orange Jerseys

Orange jerseys have been purchased and distributed to all the divisions of the BOHC. Our new colour is the product of “on ice” trials designed to promote a high level of contrast between opposing teams. With the introduction of our new Grey jerseys this fall, we discovered a conflict with White.

This prompted new trials to review shades of Orange that would provide a good contrast with Red. The result of these trials is the addition of “Flyer” Orange to our colour scheme. The end result of this process is a colour scheme that works and can be used for years to come. In the future, we can decide to renew the Grey colour, or replace it with White. I would like to thank Wendall Aheran (VP of Hockey) for his dedication to our jersey project, and the effort made to have the new Orange colour ready for the Round Robin.

Round Robin

It’s hard to believe but the round robin is here and the horse race begins. As our chair, Gunther Kaschuba has prepared for another great event. As the competition heats up, please remember to play a safe game and that “Winning is Secondary” to our work lives and family commitments.

36th Annual Invitational Tournament

Although the final numbers have not been reported, the interim results are very positive and include record ticket sales. Thanks to Rick Fox and his committee for an outstanding job.

BOWSER

The final BOWSER event is being held on Saturday April 14th. BOWSER continues to be a force in our community and a reflection of clubs commitment to help out people in need throughout the City of Burlington.

Annual General Meeting

The 2012 AGM is scheduled for Monday May 28th. We will be working on the final reports of the season including our budget results. Based on our treasures reports, we are on track to meet our budget commitments to both the league, and to our charities. Another important business item for the AGM is election of our 2012/2103 board of directors. Our past president Gary Marshall is the chair of the election committee. Please contact him if you would like to run or recommend a fellow BOHC member.
