White Division

I would like to welcome the new faces in the Division, you have joined the best Old-Timer hockey league on the Planet, and we feel lucky to have you! As for the rest of the old faces that have been here forever it is good to see you again!

We had our first snow fall and it actually feels like winter ergo HOCKEY!

We have watched teams excel and others flounder out of the gate, we had teams that were short players and still we waited patiently for the inter-divisional equalization meeting on November 18th.

At This meeting we sent one Player to Orange which set the stage for our own equalization meeting. The goal is simple, make each team competitive so that on any given night anyone can come to the rink knowing that if they play well as a team they have a chance to win that game

I have been around this league a long time and never have I heard of moving 9 guys to equalize 6 teams! Yes we did it!

Nothing is ever perfect and we will re-visit these changes as the season goes on. We have 6 strong Captains all of whom will make personal and team sacrifices to make this the best Division in the Best league in the world.

Penalties are way down from years gone by and of particular notice are the Red Stripes 10 minutes total as team in 14 games! These guys are playing hockey the way Old-Timer hockey should be played. Jim, give your guys a pat on the back and keep setting an example for the rest of the Division.

Remember, Bruce Marsh is now the Disciplinary Chair and he is playing in our Division. We have proven in the past that we can be tough on players that do not take the safety of other players into consideration when they play this wonderful game.

Nothing has changed, we will continue to be vigilant and will not hesitate to act when someones safety has be put in peril. If the referee missed the call there are two Captains on the ice and Conveners either playing or watching, we do not need a penalty to take corrective action.

Playing in the Best Division of the Best league in the world is a Privilege, a Privilege which can be taken away as a result of one stupid play. So, play hard, have fun but above all Play SAFE.
