With the regular now drawn to a close, we would like to congratulate Mike Carr and his Black Labels for their first place finish. They have been in first place from the beginning of the season which is quite an accomplishment. Although it was close a few times with a couple of teams knocking on the door and trying to take over the coveted spot, the Black Labels hung on and would have nothing doing with that idea. It is now a clean slate for the playoffs where anyone can make the final game so good luck to all the teams.
Since we are now into the playoffs where the level of play intensifies, please keep in mind that no doubt you can and will play hard but play fair and respect your fellow players and naturally the refs as well. Also be mindful of the many fans, or at least we think there will be many fans, that will be coming out to the games so watch your play and mouths especially when it comes to the little ears in the stands. Again as is every year, the only thing at stake is a tshirt. Don’t forget to check out the Horse Race on the main website to see how your team is doing to win some extra money for your yearend party!
Winter registration is well under way so make sure you sign up for next season as soon as possible. This includes the pool players as there is a great chance you can play full time next season by signing up now. Forms are available on the website or drop by Hector’s. For fulltime play the cost is $590 and if paying by cheque, $290 is postdated for May 1st and the balance of $300 for September 1st. If paying by credit card you can do so only on April 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hectors. Registration closes May 1st so be sure to do it before then to retain your seniority. We are always recruiting so if you know of anyone that wants to get in please be sure to tell them about registration.
