Congratulations to Dave Whittle’s Teal Ice Sharks for thier 4-2 victory over Greg Anger’s White Lightning in the Red Division final today (April 20). It was a well fought, spirited affair with lots of action and plenty of scoring chances at both ends of the rink. Teal jumped off to a fast start with 3 quick goals but there was no quit in the White team as they scrambled back with 2 goals of thier own. Unfortunately, it was not to be White’s day as Teal iced it with a goal into the empty net with only a few ticks left.

It was great to see Mike Bryan out today as this year’s recipient of the Don Glen Award. Also known as the Minister of Defense because he is always willing to offer the defense a little guidance, Mike is a determined opponent and a great teammate. He plays hard with a smile on his face and will always sit down later over a few cold ones to discuss plays that he may or may not have made during the game. It’s a well deserved award for true Oldtimer.

Thanks to all the captains this year as they all achieved the main goal that was set for them early in the year; keeping the convenor’s paperwork to a minimum.

Finally, I would like to thank Tim Canham and Kevin Whittall for all thier hard work and support. Without them this would be a very difficult job.
