Observations at the unofficial half-way point of the season.

Posted December 24 2008 by Red Convenor

DISCLAIMER; (January 14, 2009) Specific segments (eg. who’s in first place) of the following observations may or, may not, be true. The truth is, it doesn’t just doesn’t seem important any longer!

The two Pauls (Hnatiuk & Wisniewski) continue to battle it out for the scoring lead with 15 goals & 14 assists each…..Coincidentally, thier respective teams (White Snowflakes & The St. Pats) are also neck in neck for first place with The St. Pats holding a fragile 2 point advantage…..Paul Legault (Black Snack Attack) broke his wrist racing to the buffett table, or playing girls basketball depending on your source, and has gone into the pool…..Whitey (Blue Line Knitting Club) has returned from a broken finger he got during a “knit one, pearl two” accident, funny thing is that none of his teammates had noticed he was missing…..Also with the “Knitting Club” Michel Caron’s injury turned out to be more serious than first diagnosed & unfortunately he may be gone for the season…..Did I mention The St. Pats are in first place?.....Assistant Captain Snowflake Frank Goodrum scored a goal recently, keep the puck!.....Captains, please remember to give pool manager Kevin Whittall as much notice as possible when you need a pool player…..Also, please have at least 13 skaters at all times, remember when you were in the pool and wanted to play more…..Goalies, remember to have your neck gaurds on in the new year or you won’t be playing…..Are The St. Pats still in first? I thought so…..Nice Santa hat on Peter Greig’s helmet (Teal Autumn Leafs) its a nice festive touch everyone looks forward to every year…..From the department of “Santa’s Naughty List” our penalty leaders are Nick Davero (Blue Line Knitting Club) with 24 minutes & Jamie Porteous (Les Red Pylons) with 18. You boys play nice with your friends or Santa might not come this year…..Its nice to see all 6 teams are represented in the top 10 in scoring…..coincidentally, all 6 teams are represented in the standings, too…..Hey! I just noticed The St. Pats are still in first place!!!!!

Finally, thank you to all divisions for helping raise close to $5000 for young Oliver Crowe. His treatment continues and I hear from Rick West (Les Red Pylons) that he is doing well. Its generous acts like this that make me proud to be associated with an organization like the BOHC and all its members.

Merry Christmas and all the best to everyone in 2009. Remember to drive to arrive alive.
