Greetings:
And the race is on! At this writing, 2 points separate 5 teams; White is only 9 points back. But anything can happen (and usually does). Keep skating hard!!
Some of you have been asking if any balancing has occurred. Yes. A couple of weeks ago, two Captains negotiated an exchange of players (Andrew Phillips to White; Jim Heron to Teal). No other adjustments are anticipated. The most recent player to fill a vacancy is Dan Lupton who moved onto Gold. All seems to be well with the Oldtimer world (so far).
I know that many of you have noticed what seems to be a new team on the ice. Not to worry - same team, same great lovable guys, new look. At the direction of the Board, the Green team has received a make-over: gone are the familiar green/black sweaters for new light grey/burgundy. These lighter jerseys have produced and 3 and 1 record for Green (or Grey). Will it continue?
As the calendar year draws to a close, we think more about the upcoming holiday season, family and the inevitable social gatherings. But this is also the time for increased RIDE spot checks. Let’s all limit the beverage consumption (unless you are on hosting the event) and make the season as safe and enjoyable as possible. And while I am on the subject of consumption, watch the caloric intake. Remember that a season of feasting results in a decrease in playing ability and an renewal of rigorous training.
Have a fantastic Holiday Season and I’ll see you in 2012.
