It was a good season for Grey. We had very few discipline issues, relative parity between the teams and a surprise winner in the Playoffs.
While Steve Shuta’s Gold Stars wrapped up the regular season with consistent point production, Curtis Hitman’s Black Holes overcame the curse of having the Convenor on the roster to win the Round Robin Playoffs. Larry Hallett had 3 successive shut-outs in the final games- quite a performance… although Doug May has taken credit for this for reasons only he can explain or understand.
Rob Wood and Greg Watson will take over Convenor duties next year—the division will be in good hands. I want to thank Rob and Greg or their help this season, along with Lee Strongman for handling the Pool—- the toughest job in the league.
Register by May 1 to ensure a full-time spot next year. Registering early also assists the league when it comes time to balance the divisions. Remember that your seniority only applies if you are registered on time.
Our BBQ PubNite is Friday April 26 at 7:00 pm… last chance to have a beer with your current team-mates. I will be handing over the Horserace cash to Mr. Shuta on PubNite, just in case you are looking for someone to buy later in the evening. Also, bring a camera, (but keep your fingers back) as Dave Cantlon will be displaying his Competitive Eating prowess.
