Gold Division

Season end and new season information

It’s summer; playoffs are finished, both for BOHC and that other league that we follow on TV at the Club after our games. This up coming year will be a year of change due to the addition of a new division. This change means almost 200 people will change divisions; the net benefit is all 8 divisions should be closer to the same skill set. Much effort has been made to move the correct people. Some captains and even convenors will move. I sat and watched 4 games a few weeks ago to rate new players in a cold damp arena, think of the pressure on these guys playing with all the convenors in the stands with clipboards.

We would like to share how, in the gold division, how and why some gold division members were moved to Grey. Simply put, the gold division needs 90 full time skaters and 6 goalies. We have had 7 new skaters join, some people moved from the pool to full time and some people retired from a full time position by going to the Pool or not joining at all. We have selected some people to move to Grey, based on ability alone, age, position played, or any other factor was not considered except in the case whereas a person has a long term physical impediment. we used some common sense and exempted these people. The ability rating was based on ratings from all the captains, convenors, over all stats tracking goals and points, and lastly direct feedback from captains. We ask for your support in these decisions. Players moving up will be contacted by the Grey convener or possibility posted on the WEB or both. We expect next week the answer to who’s moving divisions will be provided.

Lastly congratulations to the Green Team who won the last place spot in the division beating out a strong contender being the Teal Team. I hear rumors that they tried every thing from different color of socks to Pyramid Power. Also congratulations to the payoff MVP Jim Fisher .
