The regular season is coming to a close and the playoff’s are just around the corner.
The last few games of the regular season have felt like playoff games as the intensity has increased in preparation for the final 5 game push towards the championship game scheduled for Sunday April 17th at Appleby 1. I wish every team good luck and safe play for the balance of the season.
We have had a few injuries recently and want to which Jeff Chapman and Mark Oliphant all the best for a speedy recovery. In addition, because of work related commitments; Dave Read has decided to move to the pool for the balance of the season. Dave and Jeff will be replaced with players from the pool; however, we are hopeful that Mark will be back on the ice by the end of the month.
Just a heads up to all Blue Division players, April 20th has been picked as our awards night. The cost for the evening will be $5.00 which covers your admission, food and chances to win at the prize table. The captains will be reminding everyone when we get closer to the actual date. This is our last Divisional/team function of the season, one last change to get together as a Division before we redraft our teams for next year. On this note, if anyone has any items that they can donate for the prize table, please bring them to your captains anytime prior to the evening in question. We hope everyone can attend.
There are only 7 games remaining in the season and we want to remind all captains to talk to their players about aggressive play and foul language. There are times when we have young children at the rink and to protect them we have instructed our referees to clamp down on any and all offenders. Captains and their assistants are the only players that can talk to the referees about penalty calls. We all make the post season so relax and enjoy the remaining games.
